Notice of Public Meeting: Revised Low Income Household Water Assistance Program Guidelines
The Department of Community Services and Development (CSD) has released revised program guidelines for the Low Income Household Water Assistance Program (LIHWAP). LIHWAP provides financial assistance to low-income Californians to help manage their residential water utility costs.
CSD is proposing to modify program eligibility to expand LIHWAP assistance to households seeking financial assistance for water and/or wastewater bills that do not have an arrearage and are current on their bill. Financial assistance for eligible households with current bills will be structured to ensure households with the lowest incomes receive the highest level of assistance.
CSD held a remote Public Meeting on November 29, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. to provide an overview of the
Revised LIHWAP Program Guidelines.
